Our bodies have a natural magnetic field, which is created by the flow of electrically-charged ions in and out of our cells, and by the transmission of electrical impulses through the membranes of our cells.  When this flow of energy is disrupted, especially over a long period of time, it results in impaired cell metabolism, which often can be one of the causative factors for a state of disease to take hold.  Even if disease does not occur, a deficiency of electromagnetic force in our bodies can make us feel constantly fatigued and feeling like we are operating at less than our full capacity.

Compounding this state of imbalance, the earth itself has lost almost 90% of its electromagnetic field, which has a profound impact on every living entity on our planet.  In addition, we are living in the middle of a huge, unregulated science experiment, as we are exposed to tens of thousands of untested chemicals on a daily basis, as well as being bombarded from radiation from EMFs, cellphones and Wi-Fi.  Its hardly surprising, then, that many of us are struggling under the substantial toxic burden that comes with living in a highly polluted modern world, and are going through life feeling quite a bit less than optimal.

I’m very excited about the healing potential of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF), and am currently offering this modality in my office.   It has received FDA approval for the treatment of many types of conditions, and has shown promise in “revitalizing” the body at the cellular level, leading to:

  • improved circulation
  • reduced inflammation
  • increased bone density
  • increased muscle mass
  • increased tensile strength in ligaments
  • stimulation of the body’s natural healing capabilities
  • healing from sports-related injuries
  • faster healing of skin wounds
  • accelerated nerve regeneration

It has also shown promise in the treatment of migraine headaches, urinary incontinence, depression, and anxiety.

PEMF treatment sessions generally last from 15-20 minutes;  there is no pain or discomfort involved, although you will feel the pulsation of the magnetic current while you are being treated.  There are no known side effects.  Generally speaking, the first session or two will be slightly shorter in duration so that the patient can become acclimated and comfortable with this treatment modality.

If you would like to book a PEMF treatment session, please contact my office, or let me know when I see you at your next appointment.
